I was thinking that a Delica sized version of the stretch (skinner blade profile) would be a great EDC. Been carrying the stretch for a while and I continue swapping back and forth between the Stretch and the Delica.

Just a thought....

I’d buy one. The Stretch is a great design and a smaller version might put it in more pockets.

Love the idea! Love the blade shape!
I have modified the Sage 5 and the Mule, with Stretch shaped blades.

Makes me want to carry my, UKPK drop point!

Give the UKPK drop point, a look.. Feels Awesome, in hand! Same size as the Delica. "Stretch" blade shape.

baby stretch. aka, the betch. as long as it was a drop point i'd buy 4 for the name alone.

Sal, I gotta say, ever since I got this zdp stretch 2... idk, this might be the best all around bigger folder design - blade, handle, and combo; even the color - your company makes. I love the thing

Stretch 1 & 2 are at the top of list for my favorite designs.

Regards,
FK

I recently picked up a Stretch 2 in ZDP-189. Not sure how I feel about it yet. The Spyderco bias toward a long handle-short blade is made more emphatic by the finger choil on the Stretch 2. A Mini-Stretch would probably have to do away with the choil, don't you think?

This thread needs some pictures.

i'm tellin you, the baby stretch, or Betch, avoids these semiotic problems. one might also call such a knife The Scrunch.

but as for the choil, honestly that's one of my favorite parts of the knife. i have big hands/fingers, and being able to get fully up in there because of its depth, choked up next to the blade in a real way offers uses and dexterity others - including the pm2 - don't quite equal. i feel like the choil and drop point would be essential in a lil native to DF2 sized Scrunch

Hi Mister Coffee,

I will try to adjust your perception. I learned from Jess Horn that, "Handles are for holding, blades are for cutting". Blade to handle ratio is a visual thing and has nothing to do with performance. A scalpel would not perform better if the blade were longer or the handle were shorter. "Too much eye, not enough brain". We're all about performance.

Hi Sal,

Thank you for the clarification. I like the fact that Spyderco is all about performance. I'm still learning — about knives and everything else, really.
