I'm a fan of Ka-Bar knives and in particular the fighting utility knife and through that I started to read a lot about the Becker range of knives and well that's how I've found myself here :) I've just ordered a BK2 and really looking forward to putting it to use.

The 2 is a fine Becker to start with. It's what I started with. It's what many here started with.

Of course, we graduated to other blades in the Becker line pretty quickly after just a small taste of the 2.

Beckers are addictive.

Welcome! Enjoy the 2. Although it wasn't my first Becker, it's my most carried by far. Let's us know when you get you your second Becker. I'll put my money on 3 weeks :)
 
The BK2 was my first Becker (and first Ka-Bar) as well. Great blade! You won't regret that purchase. Since getting it, I was gifted a 3 and bought a 14. Have my eye on either a 15 or a second 14 next.

Like B Mauser said, its the gateway Becker (for a lot of us). You will be impressed when you get the beast in your hands.
 
The BK2 was also my first Becker. You will love it. And, there are so many more Beckers you can buy to keep it company.
 
Thank you all for the warm welcome :) well it's arrived and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning :D what a knife , I'm very impressed by its weight and feel. The grind on the tip is a little uneven but nothing too major and just means I'll have to raise one end of my sharpmaker a little when the time comes. It's certainly no worse then my other Ka-Bars.
I love how the grips can easily be removed and I'm thinking some nice walnut ones would look great , I've seen some on ebay so might try those. I have to confess I'm already thinking about a BK11
