. Just looking for general knowledge on this knife. When it was made and the steel its made from and what its worth

It's a Kershaw Whirlwind. Special edition model because they normally came with a satin finish and black handle.
The steel, depending on the year, would be Sandvik 12C27 to 14C28. Still in production according to Kershaw's website.
MSRP is $90. Retail can be found under $60.
Used by Matt Damon's character to kill a deliveryman in the movie "The Departed".
