I purchased a multitool a while back and had never heard of the brand. I had happened upon a SOG powerlock and case at the local flea market, new for 10 bucks.

I had never heard of SOG  , but the quality appeared top notch and certainly worth the 10 bucks.

I want to say that after 5 or so months of daily use it is the best multi I have ever had. The smoothness, finish and locking mech is outstanding. I don't know why these knives are not talked about more (maybe I was just in the dark), but I know I personally have turned more people on the SOG than I can count. As a prior Marketing Manager you guys at SOG are getting a freebie speech everytime I pull it out and someone is near enough to listen. I would have felt just as good about the purchase if it would have been a $100.00.

Now SOG's are common among the people I see on a regular basis.......not bacause of me so much...but the dang good knife/tool that speaks for itself. It is also Made in the USA

I am not a rep for SOG either............if they have them.

I agree.SOG makes excellent products. My only gripe would be that they're a little pricey compared to other companies that use the same materials.
That being said,I still own several.

I don't mind paying for something I can use, and then maybe even pass down fro my kids to use. Course I got mine for $10 :o

I guess everyone figured out that the title should be "com(p)liment".

Grabbed an iron skillet just out of the stove  The wife gave me a Tylox pill thing and I'm a bit squirrely :D

Those Powerlocks are a steal at $60.00, IMHO. You got an exceptional deal there, my friend:D:thumbup:

When I carry a big multi-tool (and that is pretty often), I grab my Powerlock. I picked mine up on a whim at Lowes with a giftcard a little more than a year ago. I used to be a big Leatherman guy, and I still am to a certain degree. However, the fit and polish of the PL is what blew me out of the water. Compound that with the geared pliers and the ability to break the tool down for cleaning (I'm a neat freak about my tools), and you have a great working man's type of tool. The icing on the cake is that the internal tools are customizable/replaceable at very reasonable costs.

I own a few SOGs, and I plan on picking up a few more as new models become available.

Indeed, I've just bought a PowerLock and I paid 58,50 for it and that includes 10% discount. I also saw one for 55 dollar but that one ships USA only.
I like the looks of the PowerLock and the fact that you can change parts. I will write something about the S60 when I received it, I'm very curious but I'm sure I will love this one.
