No big deal but I’m one of the original members of BF since it’s beginning. I’ve been off and on it for years and just recently joined again. I remember those early years well over 20+ years ago when James/Jim Tuber Thurber or whoever, (please correct me here), started this forum.

It was a hoot coming aboard and talking knives all those long years ago. It was a beautiful place on a new virtual platform but like anything, it became somewhat controversial but Kevin who was the webmaster at the time came aboard and bought it from Jim or whomever his name is and it became a wonderful place to talk knives again.

I remember marveling that Kevin who was the webmaster at the time could navigate through a whole new universe, (to me), at the beginnings of this new internet stuff! He seemed like a magician to me and kept this website going.

So many original people who were here at the beginning are gone now along with so many pioneering knife makers but I want to give credit now to you Kevin who is still here and you should be celebrated as a true pioneer in the beginnings of all knife forums!

Oh yeah, the reason I also left this great forum and others was because of the disrespect and rudeness that has become so commonplace on the internet.

I also disliked “stainless steel or steel snobs” that became fan boys of the latest stainless steel and suddenly ATS-34, D2, 440C, AUS-8 and oso many others I can’t remember were just about thrown into the trash bin and called worthless stainless steels! WRONG! They’re still good steels, easy to sharpen and good working steels with stainless capabilities.

Oh, who cares and I apologize for going adrift with all this but am giving Kevin respect where respect is cue. Thanks for a wonderful job Kevin after all these yea!
