And by the way, welcome to BFC, I'm sure there will be others chiming in.
What you have here at your fingertips is the best knife information resource and community on the internet, the knowledge base contained within comes from everyone, from new people young and old getting into collecting and using edged tools to manufacturers and custom makers. This place is a literal who's who of the makers and shakers in the industry.
A little unsolicited advice here...
Read more post less in the beginning, it's not that we don't want to hear from you out that we're not interested in your questions or posts. BFC is huge, the subforums are numerous and cover many subjects so the question you may have, probably has been covered before. Which brings me to the next subject...
The search function is your friend, many times new members join and get frustrated that their post isn't immediately replied to our maybe their question isn't being addressed. Posting in the correct forum or subforum will likely get you a quicker response and if you're question has been asked a hundred times already people aren't quick to answer.
With those things in mind as you browse the forums and subforums take the time to read the stickies at the header of each forum, there you'll get info on what's to be expected of members, (99% of this place is totally family friendly and the few place that are not will be identified in the home page for that forum.
This is a wonderful place with a fantastic community but like any other network community there are clicks here and different levels of tolerance for member behavior so my last bit of advice, if you have access to the more adult areas, (W&C, the Cove, Political) be prepared to be get back anything you might dish out 10 fold and don't go complaining all over the rest of BFC that you were mistreated in any of the above mentioned "more adult" forums.
Again I wanna welcome you to community and look forward to reading your posts. How about a little back ground on you, what do you do for a living, where abouts do you hail from, what kind of knives do you like, maybe you know some of the members here already...

Welcome, say good by to your wallet and hello to the addiction if you are not already an addict. I think of this as an AA meeting in a way. "Hello my name is GearGeek and I am a knife addict" then everyone else says "Welcome GearGeek, we all are too and there is no cure" lol
