I just got done reading the Blade show complaint and I was disappointed the thread was closed (although, had I not been a drill duty I could have commented, but I digress)...I so wanted to comment there (not to bash on the OP) to share my story with the OP about how cool you guys and gals at Ka-bar really are. I have never met any of you (except Ethan at BeckerWest) and have never had an opportunity to go to a Blade Show so I cannot comment on the event or what happened. Here is what I would have posted.
I want to say thanks to Ka-bar for making some great steel which quiet by accident inspired me to re-connect with knives. I had, for a long time, not appreciated a good blade or any blade for that matter..OK, to be forthright....up until November 2012 (bought my first Becker), I had never developed a Love for knives. But I found a Kabar (a BK2) and I cannot get away from any of them (Ka-abrs and BKTs). I love them all and am obsessed with them. You truly do make some of the greatest blades around.
I also wanted to thank you for the BK5 I got (for free!! just for showing up on FRIDAY, and SATURDAY and SUNDAY although I did leave a bit early on Sunday...
) from BeckerWest 2013. You did not have to do this, but I think its awesome that you did, and it gives me a warm and fuzzy to know you value and care about your customers, even though you don't know who most of us are.
Thanks for being made in the USA. I see it as a WIN WIN that my newly developed love for knives are US steel. I really appreciate that Ka-bar has not cut and run away from US manufacturing. I love that you stick to a principal and that you employee US citizens and not Chinese slave labor. Thank you for continuing to show America that US manufacturers still have some pride in where they are from, make awesome stuff, and that it can be done inexpensively. SUPER WIN!
Lastly, thanks for being great for my marriage. My wife has decided to get me a BK24 for Father's Day. And I didn't even have to ask for it!!!
Keep Up the great work and the great customer service!!!
