I just got done reading the Blade show complaint and I was disappointed the thread was closed (although, had I not been a drill duty I could have commented, but I digress)...I so wanted to comment there (not to bash on the OP) to share my story with the OP about how cool you guys and gals at Ka-bar really are. I have never met any of you (except Ethan at BeckerWest) and have never had an opportunity to go to a Blade Show so I cannot comment on the event or what happened. Here is what I would have posted.

I want to say thanks to Ka-bar for making some great steel which quiet by accident inspired me to re-connect with knives. I had, for a long time, not appreciated a good blade or any blade for that matter..OK, to be forthright....up until November 2012 (bought my first Becker), I had never developed a Love for knives. But I found a Kabar (a BK2) and I cannot get away from any of them (Ka-abrs and BKTs). I love them all and am obsessed with them. You truly do make some of the greatest blades around.

I also wanted to thank you for the BK5 I got (for free!! just for showing up on FRIDAY, and SATURDAY and SUNDAY although I did leave a bit early on Sunday...;)) from BeckerWest 2013. You did not have to do this, but I think its awesome that you did, and it gives me a warm and fuzzy to know you value and care about your customers, even though you don't know who most of us are.

Thanks for being made in the USA. I see it as a WIN WIN that my newly developed love for knives are US steel. I really appreciate that Ka-bar has not cut and run away from US manufacturing. I love that you stick to a principal and that you employee US citizens and not Chinese slave labor. Thank you for continuing to show America that US manufacturers still have some pride in where they are from, make awesome stuff, and that it can be done inexpensively. SUPER WIN!

Lastly, thanks for being great for my marriage. My wife has decided to get me a BK24 for Father's Day. And I didn't even have to ask for it!!!

Keep Up the great work and the great customer service!!!

Stop trying to get that freebie knife ;)

I read over the whole thread as it was going lol, but avoided posting as I don't feel comfortable lending my internet based opinion in in either direction.

But I do know the O.P. was apparently dying to walk into a one sided fight as he posted in our corner of the web and most the guys who responded were the ones actually working the show. Still he always has his right to complain as a customer.

It doesn't really matter anymore, all well that ends well. An apology and free blades for everyone right?! :)

Even if Kabar is biting the tounge and shelling out the cost for them. That's all anyone could ask from the rep. face of a company (More actually, since one was offered to every poster n not just the OP)

What branch are you?

I wasn't really trying to get the knife...although that would have be cool, I had no idea they would be doing that... besides, I sound like a kiss ass, but that was not my intent.

Really I had been meaning to post a thank you for awhile and hadn't had the time to do it (I posted a similar one a while back in the BKT forum and had been meaning to do the same here) well that post....it ticked me off enough to finally make the time.

Ha no justifying needed. I wasn't calling you out for brand loyalty in maker sub forum. I have quite a bit of it myself.

Thank you for your service. What made you chose reserves over guard if you were gunna go Army?

Not that it matter either way, just making conversation. Its late and threads aren't very active + it a liitle hard to derail a thank you thread. I have several MP friends in Guard, none of them really like it. Just seems like you get more benefits at the state level if you go army or air guard.

I was active duty for 12 years then transferred into the Reserves. I needed a break that turned into a career choice.

Tdhurl1103, way to change the tone after the complaint thread. PM me with your address.
If I can't get Moose to send you some swag, I'll send you something myself.

Thanks Guyon! You do not have to do that, no one owes me a damn thing. But I'll PM anyway out of respect and courtesy. Just don't break into my house while I'm gone someplace ok..LOL j/k

I was just re-enforcing what I thought was deserved in relation to Kabar Customer Service, while not trying bash anyone or keep any particular thread alive.

PM inbound.
