EDITED to add: Holy cow... I just read those GBU threads and I'm so sorry for offering advice to you over that sale... Looking back, it may not have been productive advice. :( Seems I should heed the lesson myself. I think that anyime you change your mind to follow the LAW, well, you did the right thing. I hope this all works out for you.
Take care, brother.

Yep its getting really interesting in the GBU now some mebers are asking for him to be Banned allready hes hanging himself and just offered to let me keep the knives and money sound like desperation to me would someone please quote that so it will be permently documented here. I am staying away from it,thanks Paul

Well, I think that's a wrap for tonight LOL he's gone invisible/logged off, I guess that it is something like 6:50am there in Scotland now. Happy Hunting, De Oppresso Liber! :D

I had no problem sending Busses to folks overseas....but Paypal gives them too much power...here is no exception, but I will be a little more hesitant when dealing overseas! Thanks for bringing the bloke to light....regardless, Murdoch is off my dealings list!

Paul was the first person i came across who took paypal and would ship international. As a result of that i got my first taste of INFI.I am very grateful to Paul for this as i am to anybody who is willing to ship non-conus.It is a shame that scamming m*****r f*****s like this are eroding the goodwill that is so hard for overseas buyers like myself to build up.

I've shipped overseas to a gentleman in Germany and one in Thailand. There were easy and I'd definitely do it again. I will not, however, sell to someone overseas who is a new member. I hate to be that selective but I want some active Busse Forum posting before selling a piece o'INFI to a newbie outside of CONUS. Just too much headache.

Good luck...

That whole deal sounds fishy to me.. If you get the knives back, you'll be a lucky man.

I have only had one dealing with De Oppresso Liber, but I will say this:

Shipping was a little slow. I mean it took 4 whole days to get the knife after I paid him! And it only had to ship from Maryland to Washington State! What's the deal?!?!?!?! (OBVIOUSLY I am joking.. Shipping was fast, knife was better than described.)

Any questions on how I felt were answered here..

JurT, I don't think that YOU will have much trouble getting some of us to deal with you, Crafft, and Wicked... (Just 3 names on top of my head), but that bonehead, Murdoch123 has just set back international knife trading about 2 steps with this crap. Bummer that these people exist the WAY they exist.

Not to make this into a substitute TGB&U but... Bessier (Germany) and Devilki (Thailand,) I would trade with again without hesitation. Also another poster from Thailand whose name escapes my memory for now... :D

Stacey, your probably thinking of "DICK" over in Thailand, he's a great guy to deal with! Good craftsmanship too!

Gentlemen, Colleagues:

Let me simply point out that any transaction between two people depends...on the two people involved.

National, international. Doesn't matter to me. I just care about the nature and reputation of the person on the other end of the deal. With a little effort, legal and bureaucratic barriers can be overcome -- integrity barriers cannot be.

While I won't deal with Murdoch123, I will certainly decide nothing about other international members based on his odd behavior. Neither will anyone else worth dealing with.

Santi is a Thai and pretty square dealing fellow. That may be the one of whom you are thinking.

Santi is whom I was thinking of... :)

OP - I don't think anyone is maligning the character of a poster due to nationality but rather the inherent risks and liabilities when completing a deal over national borders. Issues with paypal, customs, and later alternatives when dealing with fraud are significantly more difficult when leaving ones' borders.

It won't stop me in the the future but it becomes a factor when other unknowns exist.
