Ok, Y'all remember my thread about not liking deep carry clips in spite of them being talked up by almost EVERY YT reviewer out there.

Well, that is not the only stream in which I am swimming against the current. I just got my Praxis in the mail. Incredible knife for the money. Looks, ergos, everything about is great....... except - I just found out I do not like flippers. I am actually happy it was a $42 Civivi that taught me this and NOT the ZT0562ti my wife wanted to get me for my birthday.

For me, the issue is the funky "pinch grip" you have to achieve, between drawing and deploying, in order to "light switch" it. With my Spydie, at no time during my presentation, do I feel like I am moving FURTHER away from a secure grip.

I'll carry it at work, for a few days, see if I warm up to it but so far, nah, holes and studs for me.

Anyone else find them awkward to open, compared to the other methods?

If it's your very first flipper I could see why you find opening it awkward. I too prefer spydies though.

I have found top flippers to .be very awkward, but front flippers to work well. I can just roll them open and the blades have a clean look. Work well is being conservative. I am almost obsessed with them.

I don't have any trouble using flippers, but I don't like them. I've stopped carrying all of my flippers. I don't really have a good reason, it's just my preference.

Not a fan either of the flipper tab. This little protusion always buggers my esthetical OCD, especially on the Hinderer models.

I prefer a flipper tab but I can be happy with a hole or thumb studs. It just changes how I place my fingers as I draw from pocket, open, and transition to grip. I forget what I'm carrying once in a while but it's not a huge issue.

I've tried to like front flippers. I had one that I liked about fifteen years ago... I tried my first ones since then recently. This might have more to do with them being small knives where I don't get proper leverage with my long fingers.

One place where I do have trouble is with Axis-style locks. I'm so used to liner and frame locks that I automatically default to it. Somehow, I can remember on my FRN back locks. With the Axis-style though... my fingers keep going for that lock bar. Maybe I just need to shake things up and try a compression lock... you know, for health! :)
