i have a set of throwers i got from our malls cutlery shop *shivers* , that are identical to these =

, accept their 7" instead of 4 1/2. i got these on the recomendation that you could get more accuracy out of them then pretty well any other throwing knife design arround.

and ive found that to be true, at least as a beginner. im not sure if you can get any real word power out of them, like you could with a hibben first generation single edged thrower... i will say that these are much more conscealable.

their a little less then 1/8" thick, with the double sided dagger grind. my problem is this - unheat-treated 420. sure, you can bend them with your hands without putting much pressure on them, but what kills these is when you throw them the tip curls, and the first 1/4 dents to the side severly, making them unsuitable to throw, often times even when your dead on.

there are a few things you could do to make the design stronger, only sharpen the front 1/2", leaving the edge much thicker for the rest, but with 420 its always going to suck.

how much do you think it cost *super ballpark figure* for these to be made from the costom shop? (as i think back to skunks letter opener :) )

*lol... or, does anyone know where you can get a set of these in anything other then 420?*

VERY loose ballpark figure is around $100/inch including handles, so your set of 3 would be around $2250. Have fun! I think I would look elsewhere for throwers.

seth, i would think it should work. couldn't they be laser cut, cord wrapped and just the tips sharpened? i haven't ever learned how to throw very well but it would be cool to do!!

yes on all three accounts :)

having it sharpened only at the tip would be good in that it would allow for an easier and safer blade throw (thrown from the blade), but im not sure how it would handle for deeper penetration. *these things throw themselves... its almost to easy to stick them...*

and since its infi, having an edge over the entire thing would make a usable back up if you didnt have anything else to cut with.

700$ a knife would be a lot, but it would be worth ever penny :D (if i had the pennies to spend)

these things are just amazing for concealed carry...
