Just wondering who could make a good, tough tactical lockback.

From what I've seen there hasn't been too much development of tough tactical modern lockbacks, But why not? They're somewhat popular in the production world. I know the Crawfords could do it, since I know they have experience building lockback, but what about others?
And has anyone seen such creatures at knifeshows, etc.
thanks.

Funny. I LOVE lockbacks. I can open and close a lockback one-handed easily. (One of my EDC's is the large Spyderco Calypso serrated. I pop it open with one hand, and fold the blade against my leg to close it.)

What I love is the sound--that hard 'CLACK' that it provides.

You want tough? This is a tough lockback....

I spotted this and purchased it from a dearler at the NYC show. I will not use it, but I love opening and closing it. (Sorry, guys. Resale is always on my mind.)

That said, for a real value lockback, Dick Atkinson is my first choice. That one I have as a user and it's wonderful.

Charlie Dake, if he is in the mood, can and will do a fine, hard use lockback(Mid-Lock to be specific) for around $500-600.

Dick Atkinson, as previously mentioned, nice work, very affordable.

Ralph Turnbull could be talked into doing a practical tactical for around $400-$500, and it would probably be tough as nails.

Ralph Dewey Harris could also do the work, he makes a very nice lockback. Again, probably in the $400-$500 region, and it would take some convincing.

It is hard to make a good lockback. It is even harder to make one for a price that you wouldn't mind paying, and using it.

I just notice that Al Mar is producing a "tactical" lockback.
I have no idea how long it's been produced, but it's still pretty.
Also (for anyone interested) Katz does this too, but they never really did it for me.
thanks for all the answers, keep them coming.
