What's your choice of "bedside protectors?" I currently keep a short barrel Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun in a corner, and a S&W 3" barrel Model 629 .44 loaded with .44 Special Winchester Silvertips and an extra speed loader on the bedside table, along with a flashlight. One I really want is a Glock 41 .45, but that has to wait a while.
 
I have an asp (telescopic baton) nearby. Also a oak bokken (wooden samurai sword replica). Knife under a pillow or nearby but guns are locked away. I have trained for years with the blunt instruments and prefer the gross motor abilities of them.
 
It was the Glock 23 for the longest time. Lately I've been rotating carry guns and just put my daily in the nightstand. Last couple of weeks it's the P938.

I have a ball bat, a Ruger GP100 357 magnum, and a 410 with defense loads nearby.

Plan on getting a "riot gun" in the near future. Sold the Remington 870 Police Magnum I had a while back due to the weight. Wife couldn't even hold it up.
 
85 pound chow mix & 180 lumen strobe immediately to hand, handgun and/or sword mere steps from the bed.
similar to Rocky, I have a LOT of training with blunt weapons.
 
S&W Model 65-5 .357 with crimson trace grips, loaded with .38 +p, in the bedside table. Flashlight and house alarm panic button fob on the table, and finally an early alert system consisting mainly of a corgi that sounds about three times bigger than he is, a little, but mean, terrier and a catahoula cur.
 
I keep a Glock17 in a gun vault by my bed, a Ruger SP101 "stashed" out of sight in another location, and a Beretta 1201FP in a place I can get to quickly if necessary.
 
I have a CZ P07 9mm on the night stand, and a Mossberg 500 Tactical 12ga. under the bed.

I gave my daughter my ASP, along with my Grandfather's wood billy club, leather sap, and badge.
 
.40 cal Taurus pt/oss 24/7 with trijicon iron sites, TLR-2 160 lume light/laser with PDX self defense ammo.... and a ruger single 10 .22 revolver in SS for yard pests. I also keep my official Rambo II knife that I sharpened to scary sharp handy.... It can one swing cut thru office double folders cleanly?! My Bro told me that knife would cut thru someone's arm in one move now?!
 
The DBH, a Glock 23 (the gun with which I have the most training) and an 8.5" barrel AR-15 pistol with a 30rd magazine, momentary on weapons light and Eotech reflex sight.
