just wondering, bu twhat kinds of customizations/modifactaions can you make on a becker knife? i am considering getting the crewman or the combat utility but want to know if it is possible to add a personal touch to them?

as well as how sturdy/durable they are and how well they maintain their edge?

They are very easy to sharpen, take a great edge, and will last a long time.

Modifications like grinding the handles, or replacing them with g-10 or parracord can be done for little money. The stock handles, imho, are great.

It is really a great knife.

I just got my BK10 Crewman last night. Wow. It is big and robust enough for chopping and pounding, but has a shaving sharp edge. I bet it could filet a minivan! It will make an excellent replacement for my old USAF pilot's knife, and will see a lot of use around the property and while camping.

For modifications, I plan to add ALICE clips to the sheath, think of some clever things to put in the sheath's pouch, and add a paracord lanyard to the handle. I recently saw some Hi-viz yellow paracord, which would make the knife easier to find if I drop it.

Other than that, I'll probably leave it "stock."
