I just pulled out my old Spyderco Warren Thomas Karambit, put a "ghetto wave" on it and played around with it for a while. I had almost forgotten how much fun this knife is and most of all how well suited it is for wave opening. The curve of the handle and the angle of the blade makes for a water proof opening every single time you draw it. As smooth as it can get.
It really is a misunderstood beauty and it's too bad that it had to be discontinued as quickly as it was. It would be really cool if Spyderco would release a WT Karambit 2 with an integral wave opening device some time. Then again, practically speaking it wouldn't really be necessary to grind a wave into it, since the zip tie "mod" really does work perfectly.
