Got it off ebay for $147 shipped. This is my first Emerson and can't wait! My friend told me about how good Emersons are and I saw this on ebay and had to have it. I will use it for daily carry. Haven't really read much about this knife. Can anyone let me know if thats a good price and pros/cons of the SOCFK-B?
 
LOL, nm. I got it and its awesome. There is one thing that is both good and bad. The G10 grip is so abrasive that not only will this knife not slip out of your hand but it will wear down your pocket where it's clipped. This will be the camping multipurpose work knife. Time to get an HD-7 for EDC!
 
Yah, that is why I am gonna like my HD-7 so much, no G10 on the clip side to wear down my poor jeans :p
 
i edc'd a SOCFK for ~ 2yrs and i didnt find the G10 any more abrasive than any other G10 .................

imho the SOCFK is one of the better production EKI's, if it wasnt for the '12 the SOCFK would probably be my favorite production.
 
Get some 4,000-grit automotive sandpaper and lightly smooth the G-10 to your desired grip. Just remember to remove the screws or you'll shine them to a mirror polish.

It will wear down naturally but it's much more aggressive than the G-10 finish on the older knives.
