hi guys, i haven't posted in awhile...here's something that i've had sitting around my sword rack for a while. together they are called "Justice and Peace", written in Chinese characters on the ricasso.

designed by me and made by my great friend...MOMO!

Momo and i have worked on several projects together but i think this project is the most fun so far.

the design is based on some antique pieces (Filipino pinuti and binangon) i own and given a contemporary flare without losing the classic look and feel. i hope you guys see that too.

materials used.

W1 steel, horn, ebony wood, and micarta.

completely hand-made.

attributes: GREAT HANDLING! SUPERB CUTTERS! and BEAUTIFUL SET!

Not my thing, but I very much do appreciate the use of materials and the workmanship on these. Very, very nice in those respects, IMHO.

I love the flowing lines on them! Are the butts of the handles sharpened? If so, I'm curious why? Seems like it would make them more dangerous to carry, even if they're designed as fighting knives, but I am mostly ignorant about filipino weapons designs.

mighty, mighty fine!
I particularly like your 'evidence'! I'm convinced:thumbup:.
Would be nice to see more deanimated pop cans in this forum:D

Are the "shark's teeth" pommels sharpened? You could kill a lot of zombies with those.... look great to me

no the pommels (punyo) are not sharpened, but sharp enough to put a coin slot on the nuggen or break someones grip lose. :)

Not my taste but the cool factor is definately there and they look very well made:thumbup:

A nice spin on a pinuti and a binangon, they look great, Mike.
I knew you were a cutter, happy to see this thread.

Very impressive pair - hats off to you and Momo. It must be really rewarding to see your own designs brought to life.

Those are some fierce looking blades and formidable weapons. Very stylish as well.

Very cool project.

Those really work for me. Completely 'untraditional' in the Classic American sense. Probably completely traditional in the Fillipino sense.

There are unique design elements everywhere. I love the 'butt' end of the scabbards.

I cringe when I see such beauty laid down on hard scratchy materials. But then you just proved they are users. Good for YOU!

Thanks for the show. I see a Momo knife in my future. Congrats on your smart collaboration.
