Justin grinrich rd-9 reviews

No, not that particular knife. I do have a OKC Ranger RD-6 signature series though. It is a tank. 3/8" thick (not a misprint). The RD9 (as with them all) can be had in the 3/16" thick "Bush" series, or the 1/4" thick "Ready Deployment" series. They are also tanks. Handle is comfy for some, not so much for others, yet nothing a Dremel tool & some work wont fix. The sheath---plan on a custom sheath made to your specs. It just makes the knife so much more comfortable, secure, useful & just makes it yours. They are a great knife & made in the USA, about an hour away from me. Look around on the net & find a good deal. C R K S come to mind.

I own a few,the Justin customs are pretty cool.

I had mine mod'ed and it fits me perfectly, and is a beast of a blade.

I have an RD-6 that is done up nicely by one from the Ranger forums - TACSAR.

Sorry but I dont do pic's here.

I don't have a review but have several knives made by Justin including an RD6 and RD7. I have never had any issue with any of his knives and I have used mine hard. For the size they handle normal chores very well and hold an edge great. I have so much faith in the RD7 that it's the knife in my BOB.

I've owned 3 pre-Ontario RDs (1xRD7 & 2XRD9). Still have one of the RD9s which I stripped and heavily reprofiled the edge.

Pros: big and solid and will stand up to intentional abuse. You won't be able to break it unless you spend a lot of effort. People love beating on things with them without and real damage to knife.

Cons: heavy, edge needs to be thinned & reprofiled if you want it to be a good cutter. Exposed tang transfers vibration and shock directly to the hand, but this is true of all exposed-tang blades.

You can find Justin via his website by typing "gingrich tactical innovations" into a search engine. He also runs a subforum on the other "knife forum", hint hint.
