If any of you have played Far cry 4, you might have noticed the crazy weird kukris pretty much everyone in the game carrys. Now, is it just me, or are these modded versions of the Extrema Ratio KH Kukri 12.4? Im not sure if this has been brought up or not so forgive me if it has. (first time back on the forums in a while... miss you guys!)

IMO that isn't a khukuri. Neither are a lot of the 'things' currently being churned out and called that by a lot of makers.

"Khukuri" is becoming as big a word as "Bowie Knife." Anything can be bastardized.

I've seen a trend of video games using knife designs similar to real life models. CoD: Blackops 2 for instance used a knife almost identical to the Strider BT

That looks really cool :) . The blade shape's identical, but the grind is slightly different and the handle is obviously not the same. I'd guess the game designers where probably inspired by the real life version though

Yeah, not sure if I'd call it a Khuhkri, but maybe a "Khukri Like Object" (KLO).

As a side note, what is the purpose of the thinner grind at the tip? It goes from a Becker BK4ish saber grind up by the handle, then turns into a thinner FFG out towards the tip.

Or maybe the reason is "it looks cool"?

A little off topic, but this is a cool video I found for far cry 4. It's the 'far cry in real life' version. The guy who made it is actually really good for a YouTube filmmaker. And the main character uses a similar khukri type object in the video. Check it out if you want.....

I almost beat Far Cry 4 and the whole time the main thing that annoyed me was the kukri...not how it looks, just because it would be much more rare than a more traditional kukri

Why would a random foot soldier (whose body you take it from) have a kukri like this instead of a more traditional form?
