JW DENTON Passes Away

When I became interested in Loveless knives Mr Denton spent a lot of time at shows and on the phone giving direction, opinion, and advise to me. He often sent photos of knife variations found in his own collection, and I made a number of educated purchases from him. He hasn't been well the past few years but his son has continued in his footsteps - helpful, informative, honest, and a genuine friend.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of J.W. and my condolences to his family.

I never had an opportunity to meet Mr Denton, however passionate and dedicated knife collectors such as him have truly helped to make collectible knives what they are today.
We often celebrate the contributions of the pioneer makers however not sure how often do so for the pioneers of collectors.

Sincere condolences to his family.

Well put Kevin, if no one bought them we can't make'um. My most sincere condolences to friends and family.

I didn't know J W, but met John at Blade. I was attracted to his table by the incredible display of Loveless knives. He was a pleasure to chat with.

My condolences to family and friends.

RIP my fellow knife collector, travel well.

It would take a lot of space to do J.W. justice. He was a fine man, generally interesting person, greatest Loveless expert on the face of the planet, car nut, gun nut, intellectual, scholar. Most of what I've learned I've learned from my friends, and I am proud to be able to have called him a friend.

I've had the pleasure of exchanging e-mails with Mr Denton from '06 to '07. This is quite a shock, he was a gentleman and will be missed.
