JYD and zt 0700 custom scale info

Im going to try and make custom scales for my JYD and 0700....was wondering if there is any info people could share with me to help cut down on my mistakes. This is going to be my first attempt at making my own scales so i dont know much. I hear the JYD is a good knife to start with but not sure about 0700. Any advice would be helpful....

Truth i have no idea what u mean by size counterbore lol i just planned on learning as i went using my dremel

Truth is, I was just barging in with my own specific question. Also...try searching the knife makers forums and such. It can be a bit overwhelming so take it slow and easy.
