Got me a Junkyard Dog II today !

Man I like this knife ! Thing is a beast, and my first Tim Gaylean design.

Scary sharp out of the box, I thought about seeing if it would shave hair off my arm, and looked down, the hair just jumped off before I could even open the blade, crazy sharp ;)

I picked it over the Lahar, and Speed Bump, (future purchase), it just felt more substantial. Wished it had the cool WW II graffiti on it like the JYD, and Tim's customs, but oh well.

My advice, if you dont have one of these bad boys, GET ONE !!!. You wont be dissapointed ! :D

The JYD II is one bad mamma jamma. It feels very solid in the hand; it won't be dislodged easily. I really hope the ZDP-189 run happens. Yeah, the JYD graphics are nice, but you can't beat the grip of good 'ol G10.

Yep, I was browsing the other day and saw a black one after seeing Tom Krein's reground one he posted. That got me to thinking because I didn't know there was a black one out.

Gotta have one of those I'm afraid. Here in the last few weeks I've come to love the Blur a bit more than my JYDII but slowly I'm leaning more and more back to the JYD. Its hard to find fault with something built that well.

Several months now with the JYD2 as my default EDC, and I'm still very, very pleased. After the flipper, I find myself disliking thumbstuds more and more. Ergos are outstanding, robust liner lock is holding up with no evidence of wear, edge holding with the 13C26 steel continues to impress.

For anyone considering a regrind or reprofile ... I took mine down to 3.5" blade length for legal reasons, lowered the forward portion of the spine maybe 5/32" and gave it a no-fuss satin polish. The slightly reduced blade actually seems a little handier (surprised by that) and I didn't think it came out looking too bad:

These are great knives, IMO.
