Went ahead today and purchased a JYDII. The price was too good to pass on. This is the standard model with the grey G-10 handles and 13C26 blade steel. Haven't been able to use it except to cut some newspaper to check the edge, and also cut some hair from my arm. On the hair shaving the knife shaved, but after I stroked it a bit on my Sharpmaker with the white stones, the hair started popping off. Takes a really good edge! Of course I had to take it apart to do some TLC polishing on it. I polished up the inside liners where the blade and washers rotate, polished the washers, and then polished the blade tang where the washers go. Also gave the pivot pin a polishing...................man, I'm just a polishing fool!!;)

I like the stop pin arrangement on this knife, is this what is called a "floating stop pin"? At least I think that is the term.

The fit and finish were super good, especially for an USA made knife that cost under $50.00. IMO, and like many other Kershaw products, the price of this knife could be doubled and it would still sell. Kershaw has definately got it together!

The edge grinds were right on and the action was very smooth although it did get smoother with my polishing and some Miltec lube.

Now, too the reason I would not buy one sooner; the pocket clip. Again, please don't take this wrong Kershaw folks, I just perfer a low key clip. I removed the clip and using a black Sharpie, I outlined the portions of the clip I was going to cut away, and then cranked up the Dremel, and begin cutting away. Ended up with a shorter and thinner clip that still has a little curve to it. After that I cut a piece of 3M Stair Tread tape and covered the clip with it, trimmed the excess off, and replaced the clip. I'm now very satisfied, and the only thing better would be to get a foldover deep carry clip from STR, but for now I'll ride with this one.

Now I know what all the fuss is about on the JYD's, and I would definately say that Tim G. KNOWS what he is doing as the ergos of this knife seem to be designed around my own hand.

Great job Kershaw.....................wouldn't expect anything less!!:thumbup::D

Yup, next to the Cyclone, the JYD II is my 2nd favorite Kershaw folder...

...But if you ever get a chance to buy a ZT 0200...DO IT.:).

I've had a ZT0200 since August and absolutely love it! It is in my edc rotation. I have considered getting a second one just to put up. This is one of the Kershaw products I refer to in my original posr. I really believe this knife would still sale even at double the price so good are the materials and construction!
