Ive read somewhere on this forum that the blade on the JYD II composite

is thicker than the blade on the ti JYD. My JYD ti measures .123. Can

someone with a mic tell me what the blade thickness of the composite blade

is.

Does the JYD II with the composite blade feel stronger than the JYD ti

blade?

I don`t have one of those fancy digital calipers, but I`ll explain the best I can for ya.

The spine on the SG2 is thicker as the CB has a swedge grind.
The tip on the CB is thicker as the SG2 is ground to a thin slicing edge.
The cutting edge and belly on the SG2 is thinner, again for a superb slicer.

As far as overall thickness at the pivot, they look close. I swapped one of my SG2 blades and put a CB on a Ti frame. I also swapped the washers too, and everything lines up just fine.

As far as the CB feeling stronger, I would think the extra stock at the tip and belly would lend you to believe the answer is yes.

So I guess you would have ask yourself if you would rather have a cutter or a slicer. I couldn`t decide, so I choose both.

Thanks for the info Dave. I dont have have a digital caliper. I have the old

style dial caliper that uses a brain instead of a battery.:D

My old Craftsman (USA) ground thread 0-1" micrometer found my JYDII CB
(Black G10) and fuselage pattern (grey G10) 'blem' CB to be .122-.123", while the SG2/Ti blem and production alike were both just over .125", all measured at the flipper. BTW, the grey G10 JYDII CB with the fuselage pattern is neater than the plain black G10. The Ti/SG2 JYDII is the keeper - only available now as a blem from 'Kershawguy' here in the dealers/production for sale section. At $79 delivered, it's a bargain. Mine is fine - came super sharp - just the uneven lamination line identifies it from my production SG2/Ti JYDII - and the fact that they have been gone for a year or two. Heck, that grey G10/CB with the imprinted fuselage pattern is neat, too - only available as a blemished model, as it was never produced. The JYDII is a neat knife!
