Is the JYD II Titanium with SG2 still available out there? I have 2 and I am wondering if I should hang on to them. Are they going to be collectors?

I'd hang on to them. The market for them seems to be well below what it should be IMO. I think, as it stands, Kershaw's run of SG2 Blurs and JYD's may be the only production folders in SG2 ever made. I definitely don't see any of the other "big" companies using it and Kershaw hasn't mentioned any future uses for it.

Just my $ 0.02 though:thumbup:

I'd hang on to them too. Top quality stuff all the way. Like the Ti Talon, or more so there will always be someone that really appreciates these high quality knives looking fore something like that. There weren't all that many made, and they were made extremely well, often shipping with edges that could whittle hairs out of the box.

If I could I'd put a few of those, Tyrades, ZDP leeks and Cyclones away. This has been a golden age of sorts for Kershaw. Due to economic factors it may be a while before we see so many top shelf "boutique" models made. Joe

I think this is the best point that can be made on this topic. Good work.

So, I guess a sandwich of S110V and SG2 would be on the back burner. :D

And yes, I believe ya'll are right on this point.
On that note, I don't think I would ever sell any of my SG2's.

I'm really enjoying the new items that have been coming out lately.
I can have more quantity of each without sacrificing quality.
Skylines, Zings, Packrat, OD-1's.

This may or may not be true Joe.

If in fact regular production slows down, I can see the factory supplementing with boutique, higher end projects. I would imagine that we could sell 500 - 1000 pieces of multiple limited runs in spite of ecomomic stress.

Let's make a business case.........as long as it isn't another Shallot, I'll take one of each. Who else is in? :D

I feel the onset of personal economic stress...

:D

Thomas, I guess if you make them desirable enough, they will sell. You know we can't say no. Joe

I definitely vote for more SG2. I loves me some SG2. A RAM in SG2! Now we're talkin about one sweet knife.

I love the stuff, I have 2 blurs, and a jydII. I also have a fallkniven PXL with a sg2 core that is my sharpest knife. Begging for more Kershaws in this steel!!!

Can anyone give me a tip on where I might find one? Like others, I didn't get one when they were readily available. After getting my son the JYDII Composite and fitting it with a STR low ride clip, the knife is calling out to me! I'll probably end up giving it to my son, but I would enjoy it for a while!! Any help much appreciated.

I like sg2 steel as well:thumbup:.It is a damn fine grained powder steel, probibly the finest out there. It takes a holds a fine edge pretty well but won't compare to zdp or cpm's powder steels in edge holding, well according to vassili's manila rope tests.:D

I don't think so. OD's, Zings, Packrats, smaller 03XX, and a few odds and ends.

Blade Show will be our platform for the next round of new products.

Riiiight. ;)

You need to take Vassili's work with a grain of salt. There have been too many variables for it to be any real science, or even sometimes beleivable results.

It's fun in a way I guess, but don't choose knives based on it.

No, I don't have a dog in the fight either. Joe

This might be enough for a start!
