Hello Gents, This question might have been asked 500 times but I couldn't find it using search.

Is the larger JYD, "3.75 blade, available with a black blade and handle without the serrations?

I haven't bought anything but Spyderco folders for years but I handled a JYD the other day at my local gunshop and really liked it. When I asked the guy behind the counter about it he said that he sells more of them than any other knife in the shop and that all his employees have one and they all love them. He let me play with his and I was sold.

Thanks guys.

You can get the JYDII (larger JYD w/ G10) without serrations.

Or you can get the Composite Blade CPM-D2 and beat it to death before it gives up its edge...

...Or you can get the Ti/SG-2 version and battle Jedi with the closest thing to a lightsaber on the market.

Your choice to make it is. :D

Or, do what most of us do...get all three :)

None of the current models have a black blade.

I havent seen a JYD II with a black blade. It would be pretty cool but I got a D2 version and I love it.

+1 on the D-2 version. I've been beating the crap out of mine (relative to what I use most of my knives for, cutting tin is the most recent example) The JYD II in CPM D-2 is certainly a tough knife, and the D-2 edge has proven it's toughness over and over for me. The edge will tent and roll, but I've only seen two small chips, ever. If you're not beating up on it CPM D-2 will hold it's edge almost as well as S30V, and take a laser edge without much fuss.

Can't recommend it enough.

I have never seen a Blk/Blk PE just the CE. The variants I know of are:

JYD II
JYD II CE
JYD II, blk handle, uncoated blade, PE
JYD II, blk handle, blk blade, CE
JYD II, blk handle, composite blade (D2 edge 13c26 spine), PE
JYD II, Ti framelock, SG2 blade, PE

Lots of choices..........except the one you are looking for:o. Maybe someone will chime in that may have seen one.

Hrm, I had no idea there was a black on black CE...

I guess those musket shooting hicks from WV might know a thing er two.

Any way to get the black handle scales for a JYDII that I already have? The grey is nice and all, but black would be better for me.

You could always have handle scales made. They aren't too bad for the JYDII. Ebony or African blackwood would work well, depending on your intended use. Someone might even be able to make scales from black micarta, G10, or carbon fiber.

I've never worked with synthetic material. G10 might be a better replacement for the scales that are there. If you are going to use the knife hard, that is.

I could make them with a bit of elbow grease and some creative thinking for the hexagonal inset for the pivot screw nut. My basic question, which was phrased improperly, was regarding getting the pre-made scales from Kershaw without all the fiddle work, since they may have them in stock for some of the variants.
