JYD rip off

Hey,

That's good for a long laugh. However, there are a lot of people who just look at the price to select their knives and they would buy this one and not even know that it's a knock-off. My son had a friend over the other day and I offered to sell him a nice, used Delica for $25 and he said that he had all he needed in his $7 knife he bought at the truckstop. He said it was reasonably sharp and why would you need anything else? I didn't even try to discuss this with him. He moved on to his video games, instead.

However, I am surprised that reputable stores would even carry it. It's all abput the buck, isn't it.

Regards, Roger

Seems pretty sad that they actually sell real Kershaws as well.

The name looks like they ran Junkyard Dog back and forth through bad translation software.

Just tried Junkyard Dog on google translate from English through 4 other languages and back to English and ended up with "remains of dogs". I guess they can use that when they clone the JYD I.

Really surprised me too, seeing as its not the bay with some sneaky chinese guy selling it, its a decent website putting it up :barf:

As kneedeep said, they sale the real thing for $53. But claim it has 14C28N blade steel, and that it is a framelock knife. Far as I know, neither fit's the bill.

Yard Hound??? Sounds like a bad joke. Unfortunately there are just as many idiot buyers out there as there are idiot sellers:thumbdn:

Very sad to see Blade Ops post this knife for sale.

Besides a cease & desist, there's probably not much else worth doing, if you know what I mean. :(

I am disappointed to think that someone would buy something like that thinking they would get a semblance of the real thing. Some folks just don't know knife prices and could buy a knife like that thinking they got the real thing.

OTOH, seeing that kind of blatant copy would makes me sure to never buy from Blade Ops. Surely a knife dealer knows exactly what that knife is...

So if this copy/counterfeit passes his muster, how many on his site are of the same quality or origin? Doesn't it make you wonder which ones are the real deal, and which ones came in through the back door?

Robert
