I love the profile of my Junkyard Dog with the SG2 blade. It's very thinly ground behind the edge, and therefore an excellent slicer.

My question is, do the regular, and CB JYDIIs have such a thinly ground blade? I've not handled one for quite some time, and don't remember.

Thanks,
DD

Daniel, I can't give you specific grind angles off the top of my head, but both the original JYD II and the composite JYD II seem to have grinds that are a bit more obtuse than the one on the SG2 version. They are both plenty sharp in their own right, but that SG2 grind certainly is thin!!, in fact so thin that when you run your thumb acroos the blade of an SG2 model, you can hear a sound like the vibration of a tuning fork.

I could be wrong, but if I had to guess, just now feeling all three grinds, I would have to guess that yes, the SG2 grind is thinner.
