JYD2 Composite Blade......Difference between the gray and black handles

I just picked up a JYD2 composite blade today with black G-10 handle and im thinking about getting the gray handled one as well just dont know anything about them or even seen one before. Any info would be helpful thanks
 
Ummm I think only the blem CBs have the cool grey handle. I love my JYDIICB, you get one hell of a knife for the money, Its the one that got me hooked on KAI.
 
I've only seen CB's with black handles. The 1725 has gray g10 and 1725BLK has black g10. The gray has a rivet pattern, but not sure about the black non CB. The other specs are the same. There are smaller versions, I think those are 1720's.
 
so the grey G-10 handled JYD composite has the more puzzle lokking pattern on blade.........was there less of these made????
 
Not sure of the #'s on the puzzle pattern. I was told it was the 1st gen and the sawtooth pattern was the new version. Here's a pic of mine. I will try to find a pic of the grey.

1725cb_large.jpg Mine is the newer version cb they usually call it 2.2. I wish they had come out with a different number for these. They are both called 1725cb. It would help to avoid a lot of confusion between the two. Its a great knife though. It's hard to believe that Kershaw can make and sell these for what they do.
 
Totally off topic, but I still want to know the story on this one. Model is 1725BLKST, same as the smooth G10 satin blade version. :confused:

I stand corrected. Just saw a GREY composite on utube. Have never seen one before today.
 
yeah i found one i want to buy grey G-10 handles composite blem.....just never seen one is why im asking. It would be alot easier if they had different model numbers lol

That's one for Lynda or Jimmer. Seems like two different knives share the same model #. If that one was a composite I would have find it. Still a cool looking knife.
 
This is a interesting thread.....but I'm guessing the one you saw on youtube was a frankin junk yard dog....
 
Just found a thread from 2yrs that suggested the grey cb were blems from Kershaw to get rid of blem blades. No one found a definitive answer. Like 9blades said it may be a frankendog or all blems.

And yes that black blade version is pretty cool.
 
The difference between the gray and the black is that one is gray and one is black :D sold lots of both, 100's actually.
