hi just got my jyd2 LOVE IT best knife ever. i do have a question though. i got this as a present and it was a show model that everyone would open it a ton and now when i open it up the locking liner is worn so if you push up and down it will wiggle a little. will this affect its cutting performence in the future? meaning when i open it more and more will it continue to loosen? thanks:)

I'm not sure I follow you. Do you mean to say the blade has vertical up and down movement when in the locked open position or are you saying the lock itself moves?

What I suspect is going on is that the lock simply doesn't have enough spring tension to self correct so its only going in so far and then stopping there rather than moving in further with wear after break in. I had this happen on my NRG shortly after testing it.

For me it was a simple matter of taking the knife apart and putting a bit more spring in the lock but if you have not done this I don't recommend trying it without having the proper know how. You may not know how much pressure to do it with and over spring it or worse kink it. I'd suggest sending it back to Kershaw customer service once we get an idea of what is really going on so you can write it in a note form to mail with the knife.

Kershaw can adjust that for you or you can take it apart and pull the lockbar out a tad in the direction that it needs to engage the tang better. Once it fully sticks against the tang, you'll not get that verticle blade play
