K-5 Tactical - company delays AGAIN...?

Well I'm probably hallucinating, but didn't I see a thread a few years ago where lots of people who had ordered Hakw's from K-5 were waiting months, and in some cases years, without word about their ordered (and PAID FOR) hawks?

I contacted Eddie at K-5 months ago to ask about availability - "no problem, we just got a bunch in" was his response. I called back a couple weeks later, ordered it with a credit card, and was told it would be "on the way!"

Well...2 months later, after hearing nothing in response to emails OR phone calls, Eddie answered the phone..said he had had a family emergency... apologized and said "I'll get it right out...let me know when it lands!"

That was a month ago...still no hawk...no word...this is ONE POOR WAY TO DO BUSINESS - doesn't matter much if you have a great product, when you treat your customers like they don't matter....

Sad....very sad....

There is something on this in the good bad and ugly if I remember right. It appears that it is all ugly. What a waste. Lucky Ranger and RMJ are still making wicked tommies!

I still believe orders are unfilled. There were very long angry threads on several forums, AR.com, being one. If I have spoken out of turn, I apologize in advance. Too bad, it's a nice product and I wanted 2 but was lucky enough Not to have ordered.

I place order 2/28 and maybe I should have done a little more homework first. I haven't been charged yet but he hasn't responded to any emails or vmails so not overly excited about prospects. That sucks because I think he makes one of the nicest hawks out there.

Call your CC company, cancel the charge

Talked to Andy a couple of weeks ago, and he has the hawks & sheaths but it had been so long since I first ordered it, my credit card had changed. He's supposed to get back with me but has not as yet.

Best

That's a bummer. I have one of the first 10 hawks Eddie did when he broke into things. Great hawk for the cost. However, I also watched things struggle.

Your thread is good timing as I was looking at his poll hawk/crash axe (I have decided to go to RMJ Forge instead).

Sad.

I ordered one a couple of years ago. Took for friggin' ever. Lots of emails and many months later I got my K-5. It is nice, and worth the price.

The wait was definitely frustrating, but I have waited longer for things. Too bad that this is happening WAY more than it's not... :(

There are many other hawks on the market. Most dealers will give you better customer service too. My advice to all is to walk away.

Well after all I read about k5 I found one on ebay and got that one, cancelled the order direct with K5. Really too bad because I really like the design and build of the hawk. I pulled the aluminum handles too slippery in my opinion and braided 550 cord and threw a little paint. I think this model is older the base of the handle is not pointed like what I have seen of current model but is wedged for prying which I think is a good design for prying, splitting etc.

I like the work you did on yours and after some wet weather work, have to agree on the somewhat slickness that handles offered. Did you get it for a fair price?

I got it for 147 + ship so not bad, a little cheaper than direct but given the uncertainty of direct I am okay with 147l. Just a few scratches to base duracoat otherwise no dings in blade so all good. I really like design. Have you done anything to yours/mods etc? The one problem not getting it direct is that it came with no sheath so still trying to find a decent sheath for it, any suggestions?

No mods to mine. I was one of the lucky ones to have received the sheath with the hawk. It was a great sheath design.

I'm not sure. As I recall, it was some outfit near his, in Modesto, CA or something like that. I'll look over the sheath and see what I can find. Wonder if Survival Sheath Systems could make you something for it?

Hey how about Hayes? does anyone have one of the Ambassador line? The G-41s were avalible when I ordered my ATCs. I picked the ATCs more by reputation than anything else. Thoughts anyone?
