I made a 10-minute video this morning of the knife in action. I posted it on you tube.

The video starts with:
Splitting 4x4s
Being pounded into plywood
Drilling holes through the plywood
Cutting a Pringles can (to demonstrate it is still sharp)
Hacking wood.

The video is unedited. It goes by fast. I hope this helps those considering
buying this knife.

After all this the blade is in perfect shape there are no chips in the edge
The tip is undamaged. The blade is true.

I can write words all day but the video speaks for itself.

I leaving for the wilderness today and plan to work the knife over. I’ll post the results when I get back.

I simply can't and wont believe that a knife without a custom maker name can do such feats without breaking a sweat.

I arrived home from my trip yesterday. (A 10-mile hike through the wilderness)

I said I would post the results of my K-Bar 14 ¼ Bowie knife for those interested in buying this knife.

I worked the knife extremely hard chopping firewood. I routinely chopped into 2 to 3 inch branches. Chopping performance is excellent the large handle really makes it comfortable for all day use. The edge held up very well never chipping. There was a slight edge roll on the curve near the tip it was easily removed with a DMT fine folding diamond stone. I would rather have the edge roll slightly than have the edge chip away.

The knife is made out of 1085 carbon steel with a RC hardness listed at 55/57. I think this is a great hardness range on a large working knife of this type. It is hard but not too hard.

I split quite a few 3-inch logs for a fire batoning the back of the blade. Again the knife held up just fine.

The finish also held up very well it never chipped or flaked off. It’s a little faded where it did the heavy splitting but that is to be expected.

The sheath also held up just fine. It severs the knife and user well.

The best part of the knife that I really like is the handle. It’s the best handle on a Knife I have ever used. The only comparable handle is on my Gerber predator (no longer in production)

Overall: I can’t find anything wrong with this knife and I did my best to. It is a very solid performer. The steel is also very easy to re-sharpen and holds an edge very well. This is one knife I don’t like leaving in the sheath. I want to constantly find a use for it. At 50 bucks you just can’t go wrong. I will put it up against any 200-dollar knife anytime.
K-BAR came up with a winner.

I already ordered 2 more to keep one in all my vehicles at all times.
