Trying to remove the pommel on the k-bar 1207 but can’t figure out how to get pin out or even where the pin is I don’t see any pin

I did some checking and I couldn't find much. You might ask your question in the Kabar subforum in the link above. Good luck!

It depends on the age of your Kabar.

If it is a "modern", post-1976 1219C2/USN MK2 or a USN MK1 reproduction, the pin is a "blind pin", meaning it only goes about 3/4 of the way through the pommel and needs to be "spun out" using a drill and bit.

For a WW2 vintage Kabar 1219C2/USN-MK2, the pommel is through pinned and you can drive it out with a punch in either direction.

Is it like this one?
The pin will be about half way between the front face of the pommel and the "ridge".
Where the 10 and a 1/2 inch is on the rule above, or about 1/4 inch to 3/8 back from the front face as in the pic.

*There may be slight differences in this though as I think these may have been hand ground and not machine.*

It is a different pommel to the MK1/2,but same through pinning as the MK2, I can suggest the following:-
Breathe on the alloy pommel for a little while, sometimes it will show up as a circle of darker metal than the surrounds.
(I think eveled mentioned putting it in the freezer to get the same result.)

I have also had success with putting a drop of lemon juice on where the pin should be and let it sit for a while.
Let us know how you go with it.
Hope this helps.
