I'm preparing to send some wood to K&G for stabilizing and I'm wondering how about much weight I should expect the wood to gain(approximately)? The wood is mostly curly maple.
Thanks!

I recently sent 13 lbs of various spalted woods and they came back at 18.5 hope this helps. It's all relative though

Mine average about the same, usually about 1/3 weight gain.

I stabilize my own using cactus juice, vacuum pump, etc. I know, I know, i'm not a professional wood stabilizer so i'm sure it is junk :)

The last time I did a batch it was ash and black walnut. both of those species I got right around 32% mass increase.

Gopher - does your wood sink in water after stabilizing? I have decent luck with Cactus Juice on some woods, but Black Walnut not so much. A vacuum pump is required for sure, and making sure the wood is good 'n dry before starting.
