I started getting a lot of vibration in the stone holder rod while using a titanium (lighter) rod. I changed back to the stock (steel) rod and it was better, but still there. I could turn the pivot head over and it would stop. Anyway, I changed the brass bushing today, but haven't used it yet. This was a $5 part from TSPROF and it wasn't hard to change. Anybody else had to change this part? I accidently damaged the old one.

I have not changed that part, but I sure want to hear the story of how you accidentally split yours into 4 pieces.

I used a tapered, brass punch and a light hammer to remove the bushing. When it came out, it was stuck on the punch and I crushed it pulling it off the punch. I really wanted it intact so I could measure the inside diameter and compare to the new one.

Silicone oil makes a great lubricant for the guide rod. Even lube-free plastic bushings, which is what I use, work better with lube.
