Hello,
I just received my second spyderco in K390, a Stretch 2.
I noticed that ,besides having a terribly uneven secondary grind, it has a bend towards the tip.
It curves to the left by a 1 mm.
Is this normal for k390 blades? Or should it be returned?

Got a picture? Some blades are not ground evenly side to side and may give you the appearance of being warped or off center.

Without looking at it in person, it’s hard to tell if the primary grind is off, or if it’s the edge grind that’s off. From those pics, you can’t see any warp to the blade.

I would say even an uneven grind would be enough reason to send it back if you're unhappy with.

A warped blade is never normal, on a finished product, regardless of steel. That should be corrected during the making of the knife as warped blades out of heat treat is not uncommon.

I suspect it missed QC if it is actually warped and that may be cause for the uneven grinds as I believe much of spyderco's knives are sharpened by robots. Very good and precise, but if the blade is out of true, it's going to mess up the robot.

If the bend is more towards the tip, maybe it was just bent? Still, not a normal way to recieve a knife from spyderco, regardless of steel.

Here are some pictures. The grind is also pretty wonky on the right side, and completely clean on the left.

Based on those pictures, I don't know that, that would bother me as I don't think it would affect function and I'm honestly not sure I would've caught it. In person, it's probably more noticeable.

However, we do have expectations when we recieve something and spyderco charges a lot because they often meet high expectarions, IMO. I had something similar in a Hap40 blade where the side layers were really uneven on each side. It was functionally fine, but the look just bothered me a lot so I sent it in for an exchange.
