Probably naive question, but so be it…
Has anyone had bad experiences with the k390 Dragonfly’s tip breaking? I know it’s a reasonably tough material, and assuming I am not stupid with it, it should be okay.
All that said, it’s the most sensitive part and real world experience is more telling

Disclaimer: I tend to baby my knives if I really like them and can’t yet afford to keep more than 4-5 in a “collection.” I buy and admire knives for their potential, not for actual hard use. I have 1-2 cheap, beater knives for that. Again, I want to know the experience of others

By the sounds of how you use your knives you should be fine. I have had no issues with much pointier knives such as the native chief and I didn't necessarily baby it either.

I haven’t seen any broken tips here either.
I use my knives for almost anything.
You shouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks a million for the replies, really appreciate it. Then, onto cutting stuff.

I’ve only had my k390 Wharncliffe Dragonfly for a few days, but I’ve put that tip to the test with lots of very thick cardboard (think industrial Gaylord boxes). No damage at all.

I have both versions.
Standard and Wharny
Zero issues with the tips.

I have a ZDP Dragonfly and have never had an issue with the tip breaking. I also have a K390 Delica, same, no issues.
