I've owned a K390 Endura and Endela for about a year now. Carried the Endela almost every day since I got it - a wonderful knife for certain. We were recently in Golden and I picked up three new spyderco knives. A magnacut PM3LW, a Spy 27 dragonfly and a Burgundy Manbug for lovey with the blacked out blade in PD-1 steel. I've used the PM3 enough to be able to tell a difference in edge holding between magnacut and K390. Both take an excellent edge (freehand on 1000 grit diamond stone). I'm very picky about knife sharpness and find when I carry and use the PM3 it benefits from a few strokes on the stone maybe twice a week. It was MONTHS before I felt the need to sharpen the Endela. Now alternating with the PM3 and the difference is real enough for me to be able to tell. Both are top shelf for sure - but if edge holding is your priority K390 is just a bit better. It patina's some but not bad. I've taken flitz to it a couple of times and it cleans up nicely. As expected the magnacut is 100% stainless so far. Im no collector by any means but I do like my spyderco knives.
