K390 vs VG10 blade reprofiling

So I recently reprofiled the tip on my VG10 Police 4 because I didn't like the way the tip turned downwards. I used a medium grit whetstone then finished with a fine grit, and took a little off at a time to make sure I didn't overdo it, wasn't too bad of a process My question is that I'm wanting to try K390, would I have have similar results or would it be a major pain to reprofile this way since it seems people say it's a much harder steel to sharpen?

I guess I should clarify I'm looking for real world experience like if it's going to take 5 times as long with the same whetstone, or be impossible/ require diamonds/ need a belt sander etc. Because if it's going to require a lot of time on a belt sander/ grinder and risk getting the blade hot I'd rather not risk ruin the heat treat and just stick with my VG10.

It will take a lot longer to do by hand. I use a cheap Harbor Freight belt sander to do mine, and it took about twice as long for K390 as it did for VG-10.

K390 takes more time and effort to reprofile than VG10. I do recommend good diamond stones for K390. For its high hardness and wear resistance, K390 does work fairly well on diamonds, but it's still a much different game than VG10.

I’ve reprofiled my Spyderco Delica 4 in VG10 as well as the Delica in K390. It did take at least twice as long for the K390 but I was able to achieve it with 400 grit sandpaper as the most coarse grit, nothing fancy. It came out beautifully and now all I have to do is strop with the green compound very occasionally. The K390 is an easy steel when it comes to a wire edge, just wipes right off. In comparison the gummy super steels are much harder to get that wire edge off. K390 is an amazing steel.
