Got a request for this a loooooong time ago, and am finally able to finish 'er up.

Have a look:

This one is already on its way to the new owner...;)

Hope he likes it!

At his request, I made a kydex sheath for it:

I didn't want to have any kydex scratches on it...so I used 2 layers of duct tape on the blade to act as a "spacer/buffer" between the steel and the kydex. Fit is compromised only marginally since it has a tight grip on the handle and guard. Goes in with a 'snap'...yet still easy enough to draw.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks!

Go to drug store, sporting goods store, online etc. and buy some "Mole skin" this is used to line things like shoes(ex. running shoes) elbow pads or anything that wear blisters in certin spots. It is an adhesive sheet of super soft and thin ~cloth/felt~about the same thickness of a single layer of duct tape. I have used this many times to keep from getting kydex burn on knives, Zippos', cell phones, handheld radios, flashlights, what have you.
I have bought it in black although typically it's fleshcolor that I dye black with RIT cloth dye-if it's visable. On leather sheaths I cover just the back of the buttons/snaps or rivets to keep the metal from marking the knife in those contact areas. It takes some experimentation to get it just right but lasts a long time. If applied right and using the same rules as epoxy such as degreasing/roughing the mounting surface the stuff works great I also have used a thin layer urethane epoxy(3M Ultraflex) to adhere it as some of it has a poor adhesive. If it becomes damaged I drill the rivets out of the sheath and reline and re-rivet.I have had liners last for 5+years(still using) with daily use. I live in Florida and do get sand in my various sheaths which has to be blown out with compressed air because even with the ultra smooth Mole skin it will start to make scratches if contaminated. I have observed this with my leather held Zippo that has a mirror polished finish.(I could go on----any questions?-LMK)

thanks, guys.

superfluities - not sure if I said it right....but I don't leave the duct tape in the sheath....I just put it on the knife to make the blade "thicker" so that there is a slight air gap after the duct tape has been removed.
