K5 or Vtac?

Somehow I let you guys talk me into a hawk..
I have read all I can here on both models and was hoping for some constructive input on which way I am going to lean.
I plan on putting it to work, camping, 4-wheeling and eventually hunting. I am not big on the idea of using it for self defence, mostly because when I carry it there will be no other people around.
I see a lot of guys like the K5, I do too, especially the one with the hammer poll, that is the one thing I am not liking about the Vtac.. But the Vtac is just so attractive..
Any thoughts?

VTAC is good, K5 very long wait. For camping and hunting or outdoorsy stuff, I'd go with a Ft. Turner Camp Hawk. The Turner would also be a good one to split out a deer or elk.

I am not getting any hits on the Ft. Turner camp axe when I google it, any chance of getting a link?
Thanks!

If you're going traditional we have the Rainier and the Rainier Scout with lifetime warranty on the heads, replacement handles available. They' straight-grained hickory so they're sturdy but a bad throw will break it. Since you're going to "use" it you should be good to go for a long time.

I love hickory, but for this situation I think I would prefer synthetic or steel. For chopping and handling you can't beat hickory, but I know at some point I am going to try to throw it..
I really like the looks of the Montana Hunter.

If you are looking at the 2: VTAC and K5... personally, i dont know much about the K5, but the men on board here that have them love them.

However, if it were me, i would get the VTAC, just because i love that hawk!
