Ka-bar 1189

Just finished moving and came across my Pops old KA BAR 1189
It's very oxidized and gummed up so it won't lock, amazingly it's as sharp as glass!
Any tips on cleaning / restoring back to it beauty without damaging. Thank you

Wd 40, used liberally, should clean up the gumming.
The handle can be cleaned/brightened by scrubbing with 0000 steel wool.
