Ka-bar 1212 serrated edge sharpening question

Hi guys,

I've been a fan of the Ka-bar knives for quite sime time now and because I work in the military I decided to buy one for me and also one for my friend. Both are the 1212 serrated edge, black grip models. We have watched some pretty impressive clips on youtube about cutting ability of ka-bar knives, for instance, one showes 13 bottles beeing cut with one swing. However, when we received the knives they were not even close to that. We couldn't even cut one bottle with it. So can someone explain to me what is the problem here? Were those knives on youtube custom sharpened and if so, with what?

You will need to sharpen....for serrations use ceramic rod set.

Oh, and by the way......most of what you see....hear....and read on the net is BS and/or pointless.
