KA-BAR 1491 Bag

The past couple of weeks I have been trying to find a small backpack style bag to use as my EDC bag.

I keep a Maxpedition Vulture II in the back of my Jeep as a emergence bag. (food, water, extra knife, flashlight, lighter, tinder, extra batteries, paracord, extra phone, first aid and some tools)

However, I am looking for something to carry about with me when I go to work or just around town. I was just parusing around knifecenter trying to find some small bags when I came across the KA-BAR 1491 Bag. I never knew they made such a product!

Has anyone here carried one or have any thoughts on it? It will be holding my water bottle, extra knife and multi-tool, flashlight, some food and maybe some other small items.

Let me know what you guys think! I am really open to all ideas on this! I just am looking for something smallerish... I use to wear a over the shoulder Jumbo Versipack but it seemed a little girly to carry.
 
Wow, I've never seen that...looks sporty man. I use a UTG jumbo versipack clone. The thing is a damn good pack. Very well put together plus it was 25 bucks. I bought this after my versipack was stolen and it works just fine. sure it looks a little purse'ish but screw the haters man....lol

If you pick this up, let us know what you think man.

Actually it seems more fitting for it to be posted in the KA-BAR forum or even the gear forum, you gotta have some Becker content in there man.

Well since it will be holding my BK14/16 I think they will just let this one slide!
 
Bladite wont lol. But yeah, I think they're all preoccupied this weekend...

As for the bag itself, I would probably stick with brands that have been tried and tested; maxpedition, 5.11, even condor. Kabar isn't in the soft goods and luggage industry, so I wouldn't rush out to grab the one china-made Kabar branded bag they have. Just my .02 though.

That is a neat bag. I looked it up a little online and you can keep a handgun in the front pocket for easy access. I like it.

The spots on the outside of the bag for molle loks are what really drew me towards it tbh. It looks like I could hang my BK16 on the front then put the bottom of the sheath in the mesh pocket.

I think there actually is a bag either designed or co-designed by Ethan Becker. I recall reading about it somewhere but I've never seen one.
 
Take a look at the Maxpedition sitka. I have that bag and there are plenty of pockets for organization and its small enough so it won't get in the way. Also has a water bottle pocket large enough to hold a 1 liter Nalgene and also has plenty of room for your beckers ;)

The UTG bag is great for the price, I use it as my tackle bag for trout fishin'
 
Well I just ordered the Ka-Bar 1491 Bag a few minutes ago! I also went ahead and ordered a 5.11 Tactical Rush MOAB 6!

I will post some updates on the bag once I get some molle loks for my BK16 and BK14 sheath!

The whole purpose of this thread was finding a bag to carry my BK16 and BK14.... The actually bag itself is irrelevant... I would prefer if it stayed in the Becker area.

Next time I'd start the post more like "Anyone tried this for EDC carry of Beckers?" then talk about the bag a bit then throw in some pictures of the Beckers you have and ask if anyone has tried fitting different size Beckers into that bag. It might have kept your thread in Becker forum. But it mostly came off as a thread just seeing if anyone had general info on that specific bag. Actually your whole OP didn't have the word 'Becker' in it once.

Not trying to be critical just helpful.
