I was using it to chop down some small bushes at work yesterday and the handle scales came very loose after about ten minutes. Any suggestions on how to stop this?

It's a common problem with Beckers, unfortunately. A little blue LokTite fixes it easily though. I love Beckers, but I wish the factory would use a little LokTite on the handles.

Get the micarta slabs....it makes a big difference in gripping...feels like a different knife.

I switched the screws on my Camillus Becker BK7 to slotted head types. I chucked them in a drill, and spun the edge of each screwhead on sandpaper until it would just fit in the screwhead hole in the scale. Mine have held up really well and haven't loosened up in a couple of years. I chose slotted screws so I could tighten them with my SAK, if needed.

thx - cpr
