This knife is slowly becoming my new favorite. The more I use it the more I appreciate how well though out and executed this blade is from design to production. Each contributing factor from Jerry Fisk's blade design and geometry, Ethan Becker's amazing most comfortable handles, to KA BAR making it all possible = the 'MAGNUM CAMP' knife.

I had a bunch of yard work to get to today. First I removed a stump (that sucked), and then I removed a few dead bushes. After that I trimmed back some of the vines ranging in size up to half an inch thick using my BK5. The 5 snap cut through them all like butter. After that was done my wife asked me what I was going to do with the waste, my son suggested we have a fire (hes learning really good ;)). I got the backyard set up;

I use the kids toys as a boundary so they don't get too close. Shaved a little fat wood and got the fire started. I wanted something to beef up the fire and keep it going a little longer so I grabbed this old 2x3 that was sitting at the side of the house and chopped it into 5 foot long sized pieces. The 5 bites nicely! It took me a few swings to get though it (between 15-20 swings), but it got done, and it didn't destroy my hand.

I know it feather's like a dream, but I decided to do it a little bit anyways.

One of the branches I was snap cutting. I did a few hundred of these. Then sat by the fire later and did entire lengths of vine cause it was great practice and fun!

At the end of all of this it would still feather my T.S.C flyer.

Even tho it didn't need it my blade OCD made me run it across a dry strop a few times.

This is a must have for anybody who doesn't already own one!

Luv the 5.

Got 3 of them - a hard-used KaBar that I'm refurbing and moding, a NIB KaBar, and a like-new Camillus that's now a safe queen.

Always did figure the bk5 to be the most elegant of the large sized knives in the bk line.
Imo, Part butcher knife. Part swashbuckler but all practical and solid in styling nd performance.
Understand that it's not for everyone expecting everything imaginable out of it.
Bit its a sure winner in my books, makes an especially impressive conversation piece for backyard barbeques and the likes.

Great post man! Been playing with mine all night. Well, I destroyed a ham earlier then have just been swingin it around and stuff inside lol. It doesn't want to go back to its sheath...

I love a stripped 5! Looks REAL GOOD!!! I don't know anyone that has one that hasn't been happy with it. They're much more versatile than most people think and would make an excellent Zombie Apocolypse EDC! :D

Quoted for truth! Still my favorite Becker. It's the sliciest!

See, now that ain't right. I finally get the baconmaker and you flaunt that sexy bk5 on here...:D

Y'all are gonna force my hand and get one sooner that later. Nice write up and good to see the little ones catching on real quick.

Thanks Clark!

You know you should of just got both ;) I understand sometimes its just not possible, then they get added to the want list!

One day I would love to have an actual Fisk knife, unfortunately it's slightly out of my price range. These 5's are the next best thing. I may pick up a second, or modify mine after I beat the coating off it!
