This knife is slowly becoming my new favorite. The more I use it the more I appreciate how well though out and executed this blade is from design to production. Each contributing factor from Jerry Fisk's blade design and geometry, Ethan Becker's amazing most comfortable handles, to KA BAR making it all possible = the 'MAGNUM CAMP' knife.
I had a bunch of yard work to get to today. First I removed a stump (that sucked), and then I removed a few dead bushes. After that I trimmed back some of the vines ranging in size up to half an inch thick using my BK5. The 5 snap cut through them all like butter. After that was done my wife asked me what I was going to do with the waste, my son suggested we have a fire (hes learning really good
). I got the backyard set up;
I use the kids toys as a boundary so they don't get too close. Shaved a little fat wood and got the fire started. I wanted something to beef up the fire and keep it going a little longer so I grabbed this old 2x3 that was sitting at the side of the house and chopped it into 5 foot long sized pieces. The 5 bites nicely! It took me a few swings to get though it (between 15-20 swings), but it got done, and it didn't destroy my hand.
I know it feather's like a dream, but I decided to do it a little bit anyways.
One of the branches I was snap cutting. I did a few hundred of these. Then sat by the fire later and did entire lengths of vine cause it was great practice and fun!
At the end of all of this it would still feather my T.S.C flyer.
Even tho it didn't need it my blade OCD made me run it across a dry strop a few times.
This is a must have for anybody who doesn't already own one!
