Best bushcraft knife for the money IMO. Great mid-sized blade that works well as a hunter and as a camp knife. It's one of Ethan Becker's personal favorites, and like all his knives, it features contoured handles that fit the hand like a glove. Here's one of mine that I ran stock through a RAT/ESEE survival class.
Both the BK16 and 17 are freaking awesome, I own both. They are a perfect size to attempt fixed blade EDC. The sheaths they come with are the nicest in the entire BK line. They came shaving sharp with perfect grinds. Got the micarta handles for both they just melt in your hand they are so nice.
It is a solid bushcraft knife. Not bad in the kitchen. That god awful coating removed that is. I have the 16 and a 10. Good solid users. In the knife world that's high praise.
So Nash, did you get one? If so, your thoughts? I love mine, the wife loves hers (I keep threatening to clip point it on her, she keeps threatening to stab me with it). And personally I think it would make the perfect starter knife for someone just getting in to the hobby. I'm going to buy one for my brother as he just bought himself a cool little boat and I reckon he needs a cool little knife to go with it..
