Ka-Bar boot knife rebuild

Couple of years ago. Bought a Ka-Bar 2751 boot knife with cracked imitation pearl handles. After sitting around for awhile. Decided I might as well redo it.

Did the handles, but blade also needs a little finishing to match. Person who owned it looks like he used it. Did some hand sanding with a block, but didn't seem to do much

Found some dense Wenge exotic wood sitting downstairs and figured this would work

Glued and pinned

Finished with 3 coats of tung oil

Very nice. I think it's much better to repair messed up knives for use rather than just throw them away.

I'd be willing to bet that you have the only wenge handled Kabar 2751 in the world. :D:D
