Hey All,
Just wanted to share my thoughts on my new Ka-bar. I just moved to Jacksonville, NC so understandably Ka-Bar knives can be found in almost all b&m knife shops here. I went in and looked around in one of the local shops friday and found this new(er) offering from Ka-Bar. I found out that it's AUS 8 steel, which seems to be a departure for them, and it's quite a knife. Very hefty for it's size, and designed by Bob Dozier. I love the handle, it's quite grippy. Shaving sharp out of the box. So have I've used to cut cardboard, cut an apple and prune small limbs off a tree in the backyard, and it's performed flawlessly. I will be using it in the future to really mangle vegetation at work, so stay tuned.

congrats, I've never held one of those but i'm quite fond of Dozier's designs...I have a couple Kabar Dozier folders and a couple Dozier fixed blades that i love

AUS-8 isn't a departure on Ka-Bar knives. They use it on their Dozier folding hunters and on the TDI fixed blade also.

Nice picture. I've seen the Bull Dozier for sale but never got quite that impression of the handle before. :)

The sheath looks good, too.

Esav,
Thanks for the steel update. The handle on this one is quite grippy, which is nice and you're correct about the sheath as well. It's just basic Kydex, but it holds the knife very securely. Overall I'm quite impressed with this one.
