Hi banditele, I have the tanto blade D2 Extreme folder. I would have preferred the spear point or clip point but the tanto was the only version at my dealer.
The blade is relatively thick for this size folder and the edge came extra-ordinarily sharp out of the box. It's aluminum handle is grooved but can be slippery at times.
There are two things I am not particulary fond of with the knife: 1) the thumb stud (sharp edges hurt my "sissy" thumb) and 2) the locking liner (it does not engage the blade snuggly after repeated use). However, the thumbstud edges can be rounded off with a file and although the locking liner does not engage the blade as tight as I would like it to, I feel confident that the blade will stay open securely for my intended use of the knife. Oh, and the clip--if opened beyond a certain point--will not spring back to clinch pocket material.
I keep this knife in my tool box for tough cutting/puncturing tasks.
Bottom line: Not recommended for a one and only EDC knife. Might be alright for a tool box but, then, only if you can get it for an "Extreme"-ly low price.
