Just thought I'd post up some thoughts about my Ka-Bar Desert Mule folder.
It's a big folder with a 3 13/16" AUS-8 blade. Closed, it is 5 1/4".
The slight hollow grind on the blade makes it a mean slicer, as evidenced in these controlled cuts into a limb.
It easily stands up to light batoning, which I used to make the notches in this Figure 4 trap.
It's a big knife. Here, it's shown with a Spyderco Paramilitary, Spyderco Calypso III, Victorinox Farmer, and Case Peanut.
In hand though, the Zytel handle and rubber inserts are very comfortable.
Since it's so big, Ka-Bar sells a sheath for this knife. But it also has the low-carry pocket clip oriented such that it disappears nicely into your pocket.
In short, it's a beast. Mine has solid lockup, cuts like a champ, and makes a great camping companion.
